YPG Spokesperson Nuri Mahmoud meets François Hollande

As part of his diplomatic tour in Europe, YPG (People’s Defense Units) Spokesperson Nuri Mahmoud met with former French President François Hollande on Thursday.

According to ANHA, the parties discussed the present situation in North and East Syria, as well as the attacks and threats of ISIS mercenaries in the region.

Nuri Mahmoud highlighted the effect of the embargo imposed on North and East Syria, particularly in areas where gangs still pose a danger.

Thanking the YPG, François Hollande said Nuri Mahmoud that “We owe you. Because you took up the fight against terrorists for us. Rojava will have our support.”

It is claimed that when the gangs attacked Kobanê in 2014, relations between the two sides strengthened.

François Hollande is the first president to receive YPJ Commander Nesrîn Ebdullah and PYD Co-Chair at the Elysee Palace.
