‘Kurdish peace will bring stability to Turkey’

Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Amed Provincial Co-Chair Zeyyat Ceylan said that the state bureaucracy should see that the continuation of armed conflict and the deadlock in the Kurdish issue has made Turkey lose and added that Turkey would benefit from a Kurdish peace.

HDP politician Ceylan spoke to ANF.

“War policies bring about isolation for all of us. Thus, opposition to war means struggling against isolation and for social peace. And not only the Kurds but also all peoples will benefit from social peace. Therefore, it is understood how vital it is to resolve the Kurdish problem by peaceful means and methods,” Ceylan said.

HDP BECAME A HOPE

Ceylan remarked that the HDP promotes a politics of peace and has given hope to the peoples. He added that not only the Kurds, but all peoples in Turkey have started to endorse the HDP.

Ceylan said that his party advocates politics and a form of struggle for all peoples to lead an equal and free life. “If we do not do this, we will fall prey to war policies. For this reason, peace, democratic solutions and politics should be predominant. We believe that this will bring peace to all of us. We are trying to make this policy popular. The HDP advocates a solution to the Kurdish issue. The party is aware of its duties and responsibilities.”

PRO-PEOPLE POLITICS

Ceylan pointed out that despite a pervasive crackdown, the HDP explains its policies to the people and takes care of their problems: “This is thanks to HDP’s organizational skills. The leading forces of this organizational capability are women, young people, laborers and the oppressed and marginalized sections of society,” he noted.

GOVERNMENT HAS NOTHING TO OFFER

The HDP official emphasized that the current government has nothing to offer to the people, and society must get rid of it. “This will be possible through social struggle and organization. Another point is that the bureaucratic cadres of the state should see that insisting on security or war policies concerning the Kurdish issue causes all of us to lose significantly. Turkey would benefit from a Kurdish peace. Therefore, Abdullah Öcalan’s peaceful discourse needs to be debated within society,” he added.
