Second edition of Istanbul Kurdish Film Festival continues
The 2nd edition of the Istanbul Kurdish Film Festival, organised by the Mesopotamia Cultural Center (MKM) Cinema Collective, continues. Many movies were screened at the Cinemajestik Cinema Hall on Istiklal Street on Friday.
The festival will end on 29 March. The films Çiroka Tribûnêkê, I Will Wait, Çerx, Casımê Celil, Bîrindarim, Wejina Perperoke, Gitmek, Pel, House Without Roof, Landless have been screened on Friday.
Metin Ewr’s awarded short film “Cherx”, is about the conditions under which children who distribute newspapers in Diyarbakir and the difficulties they face. Mohammed Sherwani’s short film “I Will Wait”, talks about a woman whose husband is at war and deals with her struggle for life.
In addition, Fatma Çelik and Aylin Kızıl’s short film “Çiroka Tribunekê”, which tells about a political climate in which hope and despair walk together, is told through the eyes of the Amedspor football team and the resistance supporters group in Diyarbakır under the state of emergency.

The days and times of the Kurdish Film Festival are as follows:
“Sunday 26 March: 13 May, Rewşen, Sar, Nani Piroz, Landless, Casimê Celil, Go, Sidik’u Panther, Walnut Tree, House Without Roof.
* Monday 27 March: Room 217, Criminals, Gola Cinan, Evin Di Ruye Qırkirine De, Walnut Tree, Şiwenpence, Alf leila Wa leila, Pathway, A voice From Far Away, Sidik’u Panther, Evin Di Ruye Qırkirine De.
* Tuesday 28 March, after the Forum on Kurdish Festival which will be held from 11 am to 4 pm, the films Nani Piroz and Heskif will be screened.
* Wednesday 29 March, the festival will end with the movie Namo at Şişli Cemil Candaş City Cultural Center.”
