AvEG-Kon calls on all progressive and revolutionary forces to take to the streets on Newroz

The European Confederation of Oppressed Migrants (AvEG-Kon) has released a message on the occasion of Newroz. The statement said: “Newroz is welcomed this year, especially in our region, and all over the world, in a process in which the attacks of the rulers against the workers and laborers are increased by the Russian occupation of Ukraine and the inter-imperialist fight which affect the common future of the peoples.

Heralding the arrival of spring, Newroz has become a symbol of resurrection and resistance for Kurdish people, who have been persecuted for centuries by imperialism and colonialist states and have been forced to live with all kinds of genocides and massacres. No pain, no massacre could hold back our Kurdish people’s demand for freedom, national liberation and democratic rights.”

The statement added: “The Kurdish people continue their indomitable fight against the colonialists with the strength they derive from their just struggle.

During the ongoing attacks on revolutionary prisoners, the name of the resistance in prisons became the Newroz fire.

AvEG-Kon, on Newroz 2022, will celebrate all our Kurdish people, migrant workers and laborers of all faiths and national origins, progressive and revolutionary forces, our internationalist friends, to take to the streets against imperialists and colonialist reactionary-fascist states.”
