KCDK-E publishes calendar of Newroz events to be held in many cities in Europe

The European Kurdistan Democratic Societies Congress (Kongreya Civakên Demokrat ên Kurdistaniyên li Ewrupa-KCDK-E) published the calendar of actions to be held under the slogan of “Free the Leadership” in 15 different countries within the framework of Newroz celebrations. The KCDK-E reiterated its call for freedom for Rêber Öcalan, and called on people to participate in the Newroz activities that will be held in order to raise the resistance against colonialism’s destruction and occupation policies with the spirit of national unity.

KCDK-E  said: “In a few days, we will celebrate Newroz, the day of resistance and freedom of the peoples of Kurdistan and the Middle East. The Newroz celebrations that we will hold this year will be celebrated in many parts of the world and in Europe with the slogan of resistance and resurrection, “Free the Leadership”.

We will celebrate the Newroz of 2022 in a process where capitalist modernity has left humanity helpless against epidemics, and has dragged it into economic misery and the hell of war.”

The statement added: “Celebrated as the arrival of spring for thousands of years in Turkey, Kurdistan and the Middle East, Newroz also means resistance and resurrection for the peoples of Kurdistan. Newroz 2022 will bring great hopes for the people.

It will be a Newroz in which the liberation of Kurdish people’s leader Rêber Apo [President Öcalan] and the struggle of thousands of political prisoners in prisons despite the heavy isolation conditions in prisons, will be further increased.

The level reached by Rêber Öcalan’s philosophy and the Kurdish freedom struggle, and the sympathy and support of the peoples gain a special importance in this Newroz.

Newroz is the name of resistance, resurrection, emancipation, and social reaction against occupation, exploitation, oppression.

We welcome Newroz at a time when the occupiers and colonialists are the weakest and most aggressive, and when our struggle, our people and our friends are the strongest and most enthusiastic. Therefore, our call must be to defend a common Kurdistan with the spirit of Newroz everywhere, with the spirit of resistance of martyrs Rahshan, Bêrîvan, Ronah and Mazlum, who do not bow to the Dehaks [the tyrant of the legend of Kawa the Blacksmith] and local collaborators of our age, against invasion and massacres.
