Prisoner Engin Bulut says he will go on death fast on Monday
Engin Bulut, who has been on hunger strike in Adana Kürkçüler F Type Closed Prison since 13 January, said that he will turn his protest into a death fast tomorrow, 14 March.
Engin Bulut, who was detained in Istanbul’s Maltepe district in 2010 and arrested on charges of “membership in a terrorist organization”, is held in Kürkçüler F Type Prison. He talked about the rights violations he experienced in a phone call with his family. Bulut, who was transferred to Adana Kürkçüler F Type Closed Prison on 5 January, and not to Tekirdağ F Type Prison, said that he started an indefinite and non-alternating hunger strike on 13 January against the prison administration.
Bulut said that he will go on a death fast on Monday because his demands were not met.
