Artillery attacks target villages in Manbij and Ain Issa
The Turkish army continues its attacks on northern and eastern Syria. The attacks focus on the village of Tokhar in the north-east of Manbij and the villages of Cedîdê and Mişêrfê near Ain Issa. In addition, wheat depots and the M4 highway near Ain Issa are shelled.
The Ain Issa region is located at a strategically important intersection of the east-west axis of the M4 highway and is a key position to massively restrict the connection between Kobanê and Cizîrê as well as to Raqqa. Therefore, the area is under permanent Turkish fire.
There are also repeated ground attacks by mercenaries loyal to Turkey. The attacks contradict both international law and the ceasefire agreement guaranteed by the USA and Russia. Although such attacks occur almost daily, there has been no official reaction from the guarantor powers.
