Five civilians abducted in Afrin in five days
The Turkish occupation forces continue their crimes in the occupied areas of northern Syria. In Afrin alone, five people were kidnapped within five days, according to information from the ANHA news agency. Among them is the imam of the mosque in the centre of Afrin, Yusuf Abdulaziz Yaqoub. There are no clues as to his whereabouts.
“The fate of the abducted is unknown”
On 23 February, the Turkish intelligence service (MIT) abducted Mihemed Hisên and another person from Afrin to an unknown location. This was followed by the abduction on 24 February of Mihemed Mamo Cûma from the village of Elkê, also by the MIT.
According to other sources, the jihadist militia “Faylaq al-Sham” kidnapped civilian Şaqir Şeqo from the village of Celemês in Jindires district. The man was also abducted to an unknown location.
The environment of the occupied areas is also being plundered. The “Sultan Murad Brigade” had more than 650 olive trees cut down for sale in the village of Dêr Sewa in Shera district. Meanwhile, the mercenary group “Ahrar al-Sharqiya” had 100 trees cut down in Jindires. Olive trees in particular are practically irretrievable due to their slow growth.
