7 political parties establish a joint coordination
The Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) organised a first meeting of 7 political parties in Ankara on 18 January to search for a third way through the alliance of the People and the Nation. In this context, a written statement was issued after the second meeting of the HDP with democratic, left, socialist and revolutionary forces.
HDP co-chairs Pervin Buldan and Mithat Sancar attended the meeting on Saturday together with representatives of the Labor Party (EMEP), the Workers’ Party of Turkey (TIP), the Social Freedom Party (TOP), the Socialist Assemblies Federation (SMF), the Labor Movement Party (EHP) and Community Centers.
Drawing attention to the war launched by Russia against Ukraine, the statement said: “We are determined to march together with all those who support peace, labor against the exploitation of capital, life against the plunder of nature, equality, freedom and democracy.”
‘Coordination established’
A coordination was established at the meeting “to raise the claim of peace right now and everywhere against the war, to realize the goal of a humane life in the face of economic crisis and price hikes, to organize the days of struggle and solidarity on 8 March, 21 March and 1 May together in all areas of life. We have decided to strengthen the different platforms, to bring our democratic struggle experience and knowledge together with new social movements.”
The text shared by the 7 political parties is as follows:
“We held our second meeting on Saturday. War policies are increasing in the region and at global level. The economic crisis in our country is getting deeper. While the crisis is being paid by the people, workers, laborers and the poor are raising the struggle for a humane and dignified life.
Both the situation in the world and the impasse that the AKP-MHP government has brought the country to, provides the groundwork for organization and expansion of struggle for the forces that are coming together around a common struggle.
We are determined to march together with all those who support peace against war, labor against the exploitation of capital, life against the plunder of nature, equality, freedom and democracy. As a result of the meeting, we formed a coordination for the construction of a joint struggle program.
It is our historical responsibility to implement a joint struggle program to stop and change this order of murder, plunder and robbery together. With solidarity, struggle and hope…”
