Women’s Council of North-East Syria calls for action against Turkish attack on civilians
An armed unmanned aerial vehicle (SIHA) of the Turkish state struck a civilian minibus on the move on Qamishlo-Amude road earlier today. The minibus was carrying 14 civilians, of whom 4 were injured as a result of the attack, including the driver.
The Women’s Council of North-East Syria released a statement condemning the never-ending Turkish attacks against the region. The statement released on Thursday includes the following:
“The occupying Turkish state continues its hostility against the peoples of North and East Syria. A latest proof of this animosity has been today’s attack that left four civilians, three of them being women, injured. We condemn the Turkish state’s brutal attacks against our territory, and we denounce its desire to eliminate stability and co-existence in North-East Syria. On this basis, we call upon the international community to break their silence and prevent the crimes of the Turkish state that tramples on international norms of law.
Finally, we call upon our people to strengthen their unity and solidarity, and we urge humanitarian organizations and women’s organizations to denounce Turkey’s crimes and put pressure on the international community.”
