Dağ and Er on death fast in Hewler spit blood

Mazlum Dağ and Abdurrahman Er, who were sentenced to death by the KDP for alleged involvement in the murder of Turkish intelligence service (MIT) member Osman Köse in Turkey’s Hewlêr (Erbil) Consulate General on July 17, 2019 in South Kurdistan, have been carrying out a death fast in Hewler prison since 13 February.

Mazlum Dağ stated in a phone call with his family that they are not allowed to enjoy convicts’ rights. Dağ said that even their petitions were not answered. An official sent by the prison director told Dağ that “We get even with you for killing MIT member Osman Köse.”

Dağ revealed that petitions submitted by ISIS members were answered and they were contacted immediately, while 50 petitions he wrote together with Abdurrahman Er have not yet been answered. Dağ stated that they were facing an assassination attempt and demanded that steps be taken as soon as possible to maintain their security of life.

It is further reported that Dağ and Er do not even drink water and have begun to spit blood.
