2-day march in Greece against International Conspiracy and for freedom for Öcalan
The 2-day march against the 15 February 1999 International Conspiracy against Kurdish people’s leader Abdullah Öcalan began in Greece, starting from the city of Marathon.
Cultural Center (KON-MED) co-chair Erkan Ekinci protested the Greek government, which implemented the Imrali isolation system in its own country by banning Kurdish institutions and colors.
The 2-day long march, organized by TCŞ and TekoJin with the slogan “Freedom for Leader Öcalan means freedom for the Kurds”, is being attended by hundreds of Kurds and young people in the city center of Marathon. The march continued for hours in the most crowded centers of the city.
Erkan Ekin, Eleni Vasilopolo and Syriza Central Committee member Angelos Gogoğlu made speeches at the action.
Erkan Ekinci said: “They wanted our leader to stop and the Kurds to disappear… This was the plan, but they failed to achieve their goals. In today’s conditions, Long March actions are carried out in many European countries in order to implement the new paradigm and change the occupation policy used against us. We want to say loud and clear that we will always be loyal to our Leader!”
Eleni Vasilopolo, on the other hand, said that Abdullah Öcalan came to Greece when she was a child and added that “He gave hope to all peoples.”
The march continues.
