TJK-E calls on people to join actions for Öcalan on Saturday

In a written statement, the European Kurdish Women’s Movement (TJK-E) said, “This year marks the 23rd anniversary of the international conspiracy against all oppressed peoples and women in the person of Leader Abdullah Öcalan, the architect of our Freedom Struggle. We condemn with great anger all the forces that carried out and supported the 15 February Conspiracy, which went down in history as a black day for humanity. We commemorate with respect and gratitude our martyrs of freedom and democracy, who resisted the 15 February Conspiracy in the past 23 years, and foiled all dirty policies and attacks. We salute the 23-year-long resistance of Kurdish women, Kurdish people and our friends against the international conspiracy and their level of ownership of Leader Apo.”

The statement continued: “For more than 40 years, the Kurdistan Freedom Struggle has been protecting and spreading the values of freedom, democracy and equality on behalf of the people of Kurdistan as well as the Middle East and world humanity at great cost. A historical epic of resistance was written against all colonial, patriarchal, fascist mentalities and policies in Kurdistan and the Middle East. Our struggle, which has reached the stage of universalization starting from Kurdistan, continues to write this epic together with women and peoples who are in favour of freedom against all the capitalist system states that support it, especially the fascist Turkish state.

Although the conspiracy tried to break the influence of Leader Apo [Abdullah Öcalan] and the PKK in the Middle East, Leader Apo’s ideological-political line has become the hope of all Middle Eastern peoples. The Kurdish people, their women and our Freedom Movement have carried out a great struggle against the conspiracy for 23 years. The conspirators had planned to liquidate the freedom struggle by severing the ties between the Leader and the people, and the Leader and the organization. However, our people have come together stronger around Leader Apo against all these attacks, and our Freedom Movement has grown even more.

The Democratic and Free Life paradigm developed by Leader Apo has given hope to the peoples of the Middle East and the world, especially the peoples of Kurdistan. The increasing sympathy for his philosophy has disturbed the fascist Turkish state. For this reason, a comprehensive attack, torture system and isolation have been implemented against Leader Apo. This isolation and torture system is being applied to the whole society by AKP-MHP fascism today. This isolation and attack on Leader Apo is an attack against all peoples of Kurdistan and humanity. The silence of all international institutions, especially the CPT, encourages the AKP-MHP fascist government to deepen these policies. The fascist AKP-MHP regime recklessly attacks all the gains of the Kurdish people.

On this basis, for us, the European Kurdish Women’s Movement (TJK-E), the best response to the conspiracy will always be to raise the struggle and to make Leader Apo’s line of democracy, women’s liberation and socialism effective in the Middle East. The struggle of the Kurdish people, freedom guerrillas, women and youth against the conspiracy for 23 years has achieved significant success. Now we will carry these achievements to victory in the 24th year of the struggle against the conspiracy. Protests against the conspiracy and actions and activities for Leader Apo’s freedom have been going on for days in many areas, and our people and their friends have been demanding freedom for Leader Apo in every country.

We once again say ‘Leader Apo’s Freedom is Our Freedom’. All of our people, especially Kurdish women, will raise their anger in the field to hold the conspiracy forces to account. Our struggle, which has grown under the leadership of Kurdish women, will break the Imrali torture system and give the necessary lesson to fascism in the field. On this basis, we call on everyone to participate in the 12 February actions. We invite all of our people, especially women, young people, intellectuals, feminists, women’s rights defenders, artists, ecologists and all democratic segments to participate in the actions to be held in many European cities, especially in Strasbourg, on Saturday 12 February.”
