Long march in France on its fifth day
The long march launched in France to condemn the international plot against Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan and demand his freedom is continuing on its fifth day.
The “Freedom March” led by Kurdish youth movements TCŞ and TekoJIN kicked off from Sierentz, France on February 6. Young activists from many European countries are participating in the march. PKK flags and banners with Öcalan’s images are being displayed during the march attended by hundreds of people.
The activists, who are advancing towards the city of Strasbourg where a central rally will take place on February 12 to protest the international February 15 conspiracy, have started their fifth day at 10:00 in Sélestat.
The activists are marching with yellow, red and green vests and carrying banners that read “We will liberate Öcalan with the will of Apoist youth” in French. The French people also show great interest in the Long March.
Leaflets titled “Why should we secure Öcalan’s physical freedom” are dropped into mailboxes and vehicles throughout the march.
The activists are also collecting signatures as part of the petition launched by the Kurdish Freedom Movement to lift the PKK ban. They will conclude the fifth day of the march in the city of Erstein.
