Long march in France enters fourth day

The long march launched in France to condemn the international plot against Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan and demand his freedom is continuing on its fourth day.

The “Freedom March” led by Kurdish youth movements TCŞ and TekoJIN kicked off from Sierentz, France on February 6.

The activists, who are advancing towards the city of Strasbourg where a central rally will take place on February 11 to protest the international February 15 conspiracy, have started their fourth day in Bergheim.

In the past three days, the activists have been subjected to fascist attacks and interventions by the police that repeatedly attempted to cancel the long march.

Young activists from many European countries are participating in the march. PKK flags and banners with Öcalan’s images are being displayed during the march attended by hundreds of people.

The activists are dropping leaflets demanding freedom for Öcalan into the mailboxes and windows of houses throughout their route. The activists are expected to arrive in the city of Selestat as today’s final destination.
