TEV-DEM Co-chair: “Erdogan could not accept the defeat of ISIS”
Zelal Ceger, Co-Chair of the Democratic Society Movement (TEV-DEM), assessed the Turkish state’s simultaneous attacks on Rojava-Shengal-Maxmur, the goal of the attacks, and what needs to be done to the ANF.
“The attacks against Rojava, Shengal, and Maxmur prove to be an act of revenge for the defeat of ISIS,” Zelal Ceger remarked, defining the attacks as “the defeat’s payback”. She continued, “The defeat of ISIS is the defeat of Erdogan. Erdogan, who cannot accept defeat, is organizing similar attacks against our people. Everyone knows that the simultaneous attacks carried out in such a process are the result of Erdogan and ISIS working together.”
Zelal Ceger also mentioned the attitude of the international powers against the attacks and said: “These attacks are the result of a international conspiracy. The attacks are tolerated. They intend to actualize their ambitions in the Middle East via the ISIS-Turkish state. They oppose the continuation of the Autonomous Administration system. Everyone is oblivious to it. Everyone is approaching from their own point of view.”
CALL FOR RESPONSE AGAINST ATTACKS
Zelal stated that Erdogan tried to maintain his rule in Turkey and resorted to such an attack after the fall of ISIS, which was defeated by the resistance of the SDF-YPG-YPJ-Internal Security Forces in Hesêkê.
Calling for awareness, Zelal Ceger stated that, “With these acts, it is intended to create an atmosphere of turmoil by undermining the region’s peace and security. Our people must rise up and remain vigilant in the face of these threats. These plans should not be accepted by our people. The Turkish regime appears to be planning a dirty war against our people in 2022. With these air attacks, neither ISIS nor gangs will be able to terrify our people. Our people in Hesêkê supported the SDF-YPG-YPJ-Internal Security Forces against the attacks, and they will also confront these attacks in the same way. The Hesêkê resistance demonstrated once more that no power can shatter our desire to fight.”
“All our people in Kurdistan should stand united and respond to the vile violations of the Turkish state and ISIS. All people should fight for liberty and democracy. Academics, legislators, and other members of society should speak out against the attacks on individuals living in these regions today,” TEV-DEM Co-chair Zelal Ceger said.
