Police take 200 Farplas workers in Kocaeli

Farplas Automotive Factory workers in Kocaeli Gebze Automotive Supply Industry Specialized Organized Industrial Zone (TOSB) left their jobs a week ago.

Workers protested low wages and demanded their union rights.

Although the employers promised to consider the demands of the workers who are members of the Birleşik Metal-İş union, many workers were dismissed.

The workers at the factory started an action on Sunday night for their dismissed friends and stopped production. The dismissed workers gathered in front of the factory.

Police attacked the workers in front of the factory and detained 200 people, including union representatives.

Some workers reacted to the police attack by climbing on the roof of the factory. The workers’ protest continues.
