4 members of HDP Youth Council detained

Police forces stormed several houses in Van, Mersin, Siirt, Hakkari and Urfa provinces this morning as part of an investigation launched by Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office.

During the operation which targeted members of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Youth Council, Veysel Tarhan, Berfin Acat, Nesine Güzel, Yakut Aykut and Barış Çelebi were detained and taken to Diyarbakır provincial police department.

The operation is reportedly based on the HDP Youth Council’s 3rd Extraordinary Congress held on 27 December, 2011 under the motto “Now is youth time”.
