HPG: “Our forces suffered no losses in the latest attacks on Medya Defense Zones”
The People’s Defence Forces (HPG) Press Centre released a written statement providing details of the latest attacks by the Turkish army against the Medya Defense Zones in southern Kurdistan.
The HPG statement released on Thursday includes the following:
“The occupying Turkish army is continuing its intense bombing of the Medya Defense Zones. Pinning its hopes on these bombardments, the Turkish army could not achieve any results. The details of the attacks during which our forces suffered no casualties are as follows:
Between 16:20 and 17:30 on January 7, Gundê Şêxan in the Kalatuka area of the Qandil region was bombed twice, and Kozîne area was bombed once by Turkish fighter jets.
At 15:30 on January 8, the Karker area in the Zap region was bombed by Turkish fighter jets.
On January 9, 10 and 11, the Gunde Fileha area in Zap, as well as the Girê Cûdî and Girê Amediye areas were bombed 6 times by Turkish fighter jets.
At 14:10 on January 9, the Goşîne area in the Xakurkê region was bombed by Turkish fighter jets.
Between 13:00 and 14:00 on January 9, the Karker and Saca areas in the Zap region were bombed by Turkish fighter jets.
At 10:00 on January 10 and between 09:00 and 09:30 on January 11, the Girê Hakkari area in the Metîna region was bombed thrice by Turkish fighter jets.
At 10:00 on January 10, the Girê Şehîd Şahîn area in the Zap region was bombed by Turkish fighter jets.
At 10:16 on January 12, the Girê Bahar area of the Gunde Fileha region of Zap was bombed twice by Turkish fighter jets.
Between 10:30 and 11:00 on January 12, the vicinity of Ava Lolanê in the Xakurkê region was bombed twice by Turkish fighter jets.
At 09:00 on January 12, the Kunîşka area in the Zap region was bombed twice by Turkish fighter jets.
Between 14:30 – 17:30 on January 9 and between 17:00 – 18:00 on January 10, the Girê Cudî, Green Valley and Şehîd Şîlan areas in the Gundê Fileha region in Zap were shelled with howitzers fired from the Turkish outposts located on the border line.
Between 19:45 – 21:30 on January 5 and between 18:45 – 22:00 on January 8, Turkish helicopter mobility was observed over the Mervanos area in the Avaşîn region.
Between 19:20 and 20:00 on January 9, Turkish helicopter mobility was observed over the Basya and Mamreşo areas in the Avaşîn region.”
