Pervin Buldan: Now is HDP time!

The Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Kocaeli Provincial Organization held a rally in Gebze, in the province of Kocaeli, with the slogan “We will change, resign immediately”.

HDP Kocaeli MP Ömer Faruk Gergerlioğlu, said that they have taken to the streets to protest isolation, injustice and lawlessness.

Pointing to the corruption of the government, Gergerlioğlu said: “They couldn’t finish the country with what they have sold. They’re still trying to find things to sell. They’re destroying the economy.”

As to the situation in the prisons, Gergerlioğlu said: “Hundreds of thousands of people are imprisoned by violence. Just the other day, we made a statement about Aysel Tuğluk in front of Kandıra Prison and said that a second Garibe Gezer case should not happen. They got up and started an investigation against me. I was expelled from the medical profession; I did not shut up. I was stripped of my immunity as an MP, I still did not shut up. Your investigations come and go.”

Buldan: The HDP is the only party that can solve the problems of the country

HDP co-chair Pervin Buldan, said that the party wants to change Turkey and added: “We are the ones who produce, we are the ones whose labour is stolen and ignored.”

Buldan continued: “Many sectors voted to solve the economic crisis, but the point they brought the country today is beyond 2001 and there is a deep crisis. This country is the land of crises and coups. We are against coups and crises. We are now against your ignoring us and trying to eliminate us.”

Buldan said that the HDP is the only party that can solve the problems of this country and added that the only thing that the AKP-MHP government is actually fighting against “those who demand rights, those who seek their rights, women who demand equality.”

We won’t give up

Buldan said that the HDP won’t give up and made a reference to the closure case saying that “if more than 6 million people in Turkey vote for a party, no one can afford to close that party. We know that everyone in this country, regardless of race, sect, religion, regardless of whether they are Turkish, Kurdish, Alevis, Armenians or Assyrians, wants justice.”

Buldan also directly addressed the AKP voters: “We are calling out to conscientious voters of the for the AKP. It’s time to put your hand on your heart. You no longer have to cast a single vote for the AKP, because they have robbed the country. They used all the resources of the country for themselves. The AKP voters see this. We know that there are conscientious deputies within the AKP. While we are calling for early elections, we are considering going to Parliament with a joint motion. This motion will be the joint motion of all the opposition. We know and believe that there are conscientious deputies in the AKP, and they will vote yes to our motion and we will get an early election decision out of the parliament. We believe that.”

Now is HDP time!

Buldan ended her remarks by saying that “now is the time for change, now is HDP time! I sincerely believe that HDP represents a great chance and opportunity for this country, and that this chance and opportunity will lead to a significant change and transformation in the next election. I hope that we can go to the polls very soon, and I hope that the peoples of Turkey will meet to share a common life in peace in a short time.”
