Young people take over Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan Vigil in Strasbourg

The Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan Initiative, launched on 25 June 2012 in Strasbourg, to demand freedom for Kurdish people’s leader Abdullah Öcalan and to break the absolute isolation imposed on him, continues in its 498th week.

Tevgera Ciwanên Şoreşger activists took over the vigil that Kurds living in Europe and their friends have been carrying out since June 2012.

The group of young activists includes Serhad Doğan, Fırat Botan and Mehmet Yılmaz.

 

Speaking on behalf of the group, Serhad Doğan said that their aim is to expose the crimes the Turkish state has committed against the Kurdish people, especially the Kurdish people’s leader.

Serhad Doğan added that they will not accept the silence of the European states against these crimes and called on the Kurdish people living in Europe to reclaim the vigil.

The Freedom for Öcalan Freedom is carried out seven days a week and people going to the European institutions in the area are informed about the Kurdish people’s leader’s life of struggle, his paradigm, the international conspiracy and the Imrali torture system, with brochures prepared in various languages ​​during the vigil.
