KOMAW calls on all Kurds to participate in events organised for 9th anniversary of Paris Massacre

The Association of Families of Missing and Martyrs, KOMAW, has released a statement on the 9th anniversary of the murders of Sakine Cansız, Fidan Doğan and Leyla Şaylemez in Paris.

KOMAW said: “In January 2013, an attack was carried out in Paris against the Kurdistan Women’s Freedom Movement by MİT, the executioners of the fascist Turkish Republic. In this femicide attack, one of the leaders of the Kurdish Freedom Movement Sakine Cansız (Sara), KNK Paris Representative Fidan Doğan (Rojbin) and Kurdish Youth Movement Member Leyla Şaylemez (Ronahi) were murdered.

Although the state did not take responsibility for this attack at first, it was so aggressive that it could no longer hide its brutal actions.”

The statement continued: “Although the Turkish state is leading this inhumane policy and practice against the Kurdistan Freedom Struggle in the person of the Free Women’s Movement, both inside and outside, it is known that it has local and foreign collaborators.

Therefore, although Turkey is responsible for the massacre in Paris, if the culprits are not exposed, we will hold the French state accomplice if it continues to not take a stand.

As KOMAW, we commemorate all our martyrs in the person of our heroes, Sara, Rojbin and Ronahi, who are leading figures of the ideology of women’s freedom, and we reiterate once again that we will be their followers.

We call on all Kurds to take a more active stance against these attacks. We call on everyone to participate in the actions to be organised this week.”
