Police attack families of prisoners in Ankara
A number of families of prisoners, from Amed, Van, Şırnak, Batman, Mardin, Yüksekova, Siirt, Çukurova and İstanbul, have arrived in Ankara on Tuesday to demand justice for their relatives. Families demand the release of ill prisoners and those who have been denied release despite having served their sentences.
The families first attended the parliamentary group meeting of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) today.
Following the parliamentary group meeting, families were set to march from Dikmen Gate of the Parliament to the Ministry of Justice.
Faced with a police barricade, the families then went into action to make a statement to the journalists.
The group was brutally attacked by the police and forced into police vehicles.
