Female guerrillas buried in ‘Cemetery of the nameless’ before DNA test is performed

It was stated that 6 HPG guerrillas lost their lives as a result of the intense air attacks carried out during the military operation between 11 and 15 December.

While the bodies of Deniz Orak (Hîra) and Simanur Kaya (Mesken) were taken and buried by their families, DNA testing was required because the other 4 women could not be recognized.

The families of Fatma Çiçek from Bismil, Betül Dilen (Dicle) from Karayazı (province of Erzurum), Türkan Aktan’s family from Nusaybin and Şilan Çiçek’s family from Istanbul came to Mardin and gave blood samples.

Şilan Çiçek’s family, who came to Mardin on Friday, learned that the bodies had already been buried in the ” Cemetery of the nameless” in Artuklu district on Thursday evening.

With the burial of the four bodies, the number of people who lost their lives in conflicts and operations since the 90s and were buried in the Artuklu Orphan Cemetery increased to 54.
