Activists in Frankfurt and Bremen demand release of ill prisoners
In the German cities of Frankfurt and Bremen, demonstrations were held in solidarity with prisoners in Turkish jails and to demand the release of ill prisoners.
FRANKFURT
In Frankfurt, women protested at Ni Una Menos Platz demanding the release of ill prisoners.
Different women’s organizations supported the action, which was promoted by the Amara Women’s Council.
Women called on international institutions to put pressure on Turkey to release all ill prisoners, especially politician Aysel Tuğluk.
Drawing attention to the torture practices of the Turkish state against ill prisoners, the women reminded that 7 prisoners lost their lives in the last month, and added that the situation of the other prisoners is getting worse.
The women added that the recent lack of information about Kurdish people’s leader Abdullah Öcalan has increased the concerns of Kurdish people and women.
BREMEN
A rally demanding the release of ill prisoners was also held in Bremen.
The action was held in front of the Bremen Parliament and activists called on everyone to stand by ill prisoners and voice their demands.
