Şenyaşar family: This case is the bleeding wound of the country

Emine Şenyaşar, who lost her husband and two sons in an armed attack carried out by AKP Deputy İbrahim Halil Yıldız’s bodyguards and relatives in Suruç district of Urfa on 14 June 2018, and Ferit Şenyaşar, who was injured in the same attack, continue their Vigil for Justice in front of Urfa Courthouse on its 297th day.

“In a state hospital, an MP and his relatives perpetrated a massacre before the eyes of hundreds of public employees. All of AKP politicians are aware of the incident. In the parliament, there are 302 MPs of the AKP. So far, AKP MP Ahmet Eşref Fakıbaba gave a speech and told that we are rightful. We expect the similar sensitivity from other MPs. Those who remain silent are accomplices to this massacre,” said Ferit Şenyaşar.

‘We will keep the struggle going until we achieve justice’

Recalling their demands for Fadıl Şenyaşar to be released and the court case to be launched, Şenyaşar said, “We demand 23 people detected by the prosecutor, who perpetrated an organised massacre in the hospital, to be sentenced with the heaviest penalty. We will keep our struggle going until we achieve justice.”

Şenyaşar family shared the following on their social media account; “This is not only our case. This is the bleeding wound of the country. Why is the murderer so relaxed? Because the instigator of the organised massacre in Suruç State hospital is still a deputy of the AKP.”
