KCDK-E: 2022 shall be the year of free Kurdistan and Öcalan
The Co-Presidency Council of the Kurdish Democratic Societies Congress in Europe (KCDK-E) congratulated Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan, the peoples of Kurdistan and all humanity for the coming year and made a brief assessment of the year 2021.
KCDK-E’s evaluation of 2021 and its congratulatory address for the year 2022 is as follows:
“The genocidal Turkish state’s aggression against all the values of the Kurdish people escalated during the year 2021. This genocidal aggression has continued against all our national values, and all oppressive methods and means of attack, specifically the isolation of Öcalan, have been put into effect.
Şengal and Maxmur, which remain under the control and supervision of the United Nations, were attacked and dozens of casualties were reported. The occupying Turkish state has spread its invasion attacks all over Kurdistan, and continued to intensify its threats and expansionist ambitions in South Kurdistan.
Encouraged by the Iraqi government that gave green light to these attacks and the cooperation of the ruling Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), the fascist Turkish regime has become impudent and resorted to all kinds of illegal warfare methods, including the use of chemical weapons.
The silence of the international powers has postponed the Turkish state’s demise, allowing it to become a dangerous hotbed in the region.
Despite the chemical weapons used in the attacks against the guerrilla areas and all the opportunities provided by the international forces, the Iraqi government and the KDP, the children of the Kurdish people resisted with dignity and protected their lands.
One of the most fundamental achievements of 2021 was the globalization of the struggle for the physical freedom of Öcalan. The declarations of famous, prominent individuals from various parts of the world, scientists, journalists, trade unionists, and the emphasis on his ideas and the role he could play in the region have historical significance.
This struggle has paved the way for a proliferation of the campaign against the PKK ban, which is implemented as part of an international conspiracy.
A new counter-front has emerged with the support of friends and the international public against the US-NATO and Turkish local forces, which have introduced the concept of annihilation and genocide in Kurdistan.
In 2021, the world was shaken by the scourge of global capitalism which disregars human life and ecology, and the ensuing diseases and coronavirus. The capitalist modernity has created a climate of fear driving human life to despair.
Although violence against women and femicides were frequently reported on a global scale in 2021, women’s resistance has developed and grown with courage.
We hope that the year 2022 will bring equality, freedom and justice for the peoples of Kurdistan, the Middle East, Europe and the world.”
