Activists in Marseille protest conditions of ill prisoners in Turkish jails

Kurds and their friends gathered in Marseille in Canabiere Square on Tuesday, to protest the fascist practices of the AKP-MHP government against political prisoners.

Activists carried a banner saying ‘Freedom for political prisoners in Turkish prisons’, photos of political prisoners who lost their lives a few weeks back and ill prisoners, as well as flags of the PKK and photos of Kurdish people’s leader Abdullah Öcalan.

Democratic Kurdish Community Center co-chair Erhan Tarhan made a speech and said: “They leave our friends to die in prisons. We, as the Kurdish people, must be the voice of our comrades and claim their struggle.”

A call was made to participate in the action to be held on Saturday.
