Eğitim Sen pays visit to Şenyaşar familiy’s justice vigil

Support visits continue to the justice vigil, launched on March 9 in front of the courthouse in Urfa province by Emine Şenyaşar, who lost her husband and two sons in an armed attack in Suruç district of Urfa on June 14, 2018, organized by AKP Deputy İbrahim Halil Yıldız’s bodyguards and relatives, and her son Ferit Şenyaşar, who was injured in the same attack. Egitim Sen union chairperson Necla Kurul visited the family in the area called ‘Şenyaşar family justice corner’.

‘NO JUSTICE IN COURTHOUSE’

Kurul received information about the persecution the family has been subjected to. “Turkey’s current polarizing politics destroyed Emine Şenyaşar and her family. Justice is absent in a gigantic courthouse. Turkey has become a country where injustices are experienced to a great extent. Emine Şenyaşar’s son was unjustly arrested despite the massacre in his mother’s presence. The family demands a fair trial,” she said.

Kurul recalled that the massacre took place in Suruç State Hospital. “What happened in the state hospital is ignored. Blood on walls, chaos in the hospital and murder of 3 people are neglected. The father who was unaware of what was going on was murdered in the hospital that he had gone to for his children. The mother saw this, too, and denounced it to the public in Turkey, yet justice has not been served. Turkey is no longer a country we want to live in. The struggle of mother and son must be the struggle for justice for all of us. Everyone has a duty to build a country where the righteous are stronger. As education and science workers, we stand by the family. We will continue to fight together,” she stated.

Ferit Şenyaşar said that support visits give strength to their vigil.
