Families wait to take bodies of guerrillas who fell in Bagok

Six YJA Star fighters fell as martyrs as a result of an air bombardment carried out during the military attacks launched by the Turkish army on 11 December in Bagok Mountain in the Nusaybin district of Mardin. The attack lasted until 15 December.

While the bodies of Deniz Orak (Hîra) and Simanur Kaya (Mesken) were taken by their families and buried in Nusaybin, 4 bodies are still kept in the morgue.

Another family came to Mardin for the recognition of the bodies. The family of Fatma Çiçek, who came from Bismil, province of Amed, could not identify the bodies, who they said were unrecognizable. Thereupon, the family returned to Bismil, after giving a blood sample for DNA testing.

The family of Betül Dilen (Dicle), who came from the village of Aluca (Ulucanlar) in the Karayazı district of Erzurum, also gave a blood sample to compare the DNA, as they were unable to recognize the bodies.

It is stated that if the DNA samples are not received, the bodies will be taken from the morgue on 31 December and buried in the Orphans Cemetery in Artuklu.
