Berwarî: No solution in the Middle East without Öcalan

Duhok University academician Dr. Kamûran Berwarî made evaluations for RojNews concerning the role of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan in resolving problems in the Middle East, as well as isolation and conspiracy against him. The Duhok university lecturer recalled that Öcalan was captured as a result of an international conspiracy. “The capture of Mr. Öcalan was planned. The PKK leader was captured as a result of an international policy and strategy. They had the purpose of jailing him. It is now better understood that the reason for his arrest was to keep him away from putting his projects on peace, freedom and democracy into practice. Afterwards, we realized that the peoples of the Middle East had once again entered a dark phase.”

INTERNATIONAL CONSPIRACY

Berwarî noted that Öcalan has been held on Imrali Island for 22 years, which conflicts with the interests of the peoples of the Middle East. “The aim of the conspiracy was to prevent ideas and philosophy that could be introduced as an alternative to their projects. The democratic nation and autonomy is a very important contemporary project. It is not possible to reach a solution based on the existing Eastern or Western projects in the Middle East, which is why the international community and the Kurdish people have been working for the freedom of Mr. Öcalan for the last 22 years.”

ILLEGAL TO KEEP ÖCALAN ON IMRALI

Berwarî pointed out that Öcalan was not arrested in accordance with international laws, adding, “His continuous arrest is also against the international laws. Therefore, if the Kurds keep carrying out legal activities, they can ensure the freedom of Öcalan. Currently, both the Freedom for Öcalan Committee and some international organizations are working against his isolation in Imrali prison.”

‘NO SOLUTION WITHOUT ÖCALAN’

Berwari appealed to the international powers for Öcalan’s physical freedom. “If the international powers do not want to shed the blood of people in the Middle East as they claim, if they want the Middle East to maintain stability and their interests to be protected, then Öcalan must be released. The US, UK, Israel, France and NATO states have now concluded that there can be no solution in the Middle East without Öcalan’s freedom and the PKK. No project in the Middle East that leaves out the PKK and Öcalan can achieve success,” Berwari concluded.
