Police detain 12 HDP members and executives in Istanbul

As part of an investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, a political police operation was carried out today, targeting the homes of members and administrators of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Istanbul provincial-district organization.

HDP members and administrators Ali Göregen, Hakim Göregen, Mehmet Varslı, İsmail Gülen, Abdullah Teymur, Evren Demir, Cevdet Yeşilkaya, Mustafa Karavar, Metin Göksu, Aydın Kürekçi, and Kahraman Özgün were detained in the operation.

It was learned that HDP’s former director, Bakan Duman, was also detained in Kars and will be brought to Istanbul.
