Women’s delegation from North East Syria continues its visit in Catalunya
A delegation from Rojava continued its trip through the Spanish State. After a very successful visit to the Basque Country, the delegation, made up of Rawda Hasan, Minister of Culture of Jazira Region, Nariman (Evdikê) Mohammad, writer and spokesperson of the Literature Council and Manal Mohammad, from the diplomacy committee of Kongreya Star, arrived in Catalunya.
The delegation had been invited by the Municipality of Durango which is twinned with the city of Kobane and sustains some important projects in Kobane, such as the Martyr Silan Academy and a cultural project promoting peace and involving young girls and children carried out by Kevana Zerin.
After the many meetings and events in the Basque Country, the delegation began its visit to Catalunya. The Catalan Parliament has recently officially recognized the Autonomous Administration.
On Monday, the delegation met with the current Minister of Equality and Feminism of the Government of Catalonia, Tània Verge i Mestre and the Secretary of Equality of the Generalidad, Mireia Mata Solsona.
On Tuesday, the delegation met with members of the Catalan Parliament and the Committee on Foreign Relations.
In the afternoon, the delegation held a public meeting organized by the Catalan Peace Association and CIEMEN.
