Merwan Bedel’s sister says she will discover who sold him

The Yazidi Women’s Freedom Movement (Tevgera Azadiya Jinên Êzidî-TAJÊ) made a statement at the place where Shengal Autonomous Administration Executive Council Co-chair Merwan Bedel fell as a martyr.

Many people attended the statement as well as Merwan Bedel’s children and family. Hilwa Xelef, sister of Merwan Bedel, addressed the crowd.

She said that martyr Merwan Bedel followed the path of the Yazidis. Hilwa Xelef condemned the collaborators and betrayers and said: “My brother was an orphan since childhood, he grew up alone. He had to grow up amid hardship and homelessness. His mother went through all kinds of hardships to get Merwan to where he was today. He didn’t think about his own interests for a day. For 8 years, he worked tirelessly in both the military and the political field. He fought on the battlefields. He never broke anyone’s heart.”

‘I will avenge you’

Hilwa Xelef said that she would avenge her brother and seek punishment for the collaborators who passed on to the Turkish state the information about her brother’s whereabouts in exchange for money. She added: “I am not saying anything to the Turkish state, because they are the main enemy of the Yazidis. Whoever becomes the leader of the Yazidis they just want to kill him. Those who targeted my brother and his children should know that I will avenge him. I will avenge my brother. I will hunt down the betrayers and not stop until I avenge my brother.”
