Women’s United Revolutionary Movement: Prisoner Garibe Gezer was murdered by the state!

The Women’s United Revolutionary Movement (KDBH) released a statement concerning the prisoner Garibe Gezer who lost her life in prison.

The statement said, “Revolutionary patriotic captive Garibe Gezer, whom we know for her resistance against physical, sexual and psychological tortures in Kandıra Prison and public statements she released, fell martyr on December 9. We will remain loyal to her memory and will bring the murderers to account. We will absolutely crown our struggle against fascism and male-domination with the victory of revolution.”

The statement also included the following remarks:

“Garibe Gezer, who was subjected to various kinds of male-state violence such as strip search, solitary confinement, harassment, rape, physical torture and systematic psychological pressure for months, was directly or indirectly slaughtered by the state. With this massacre, the male-dominated fascist regime conveys a clear message to women and oppressed gender identities by recalling the heavy prices to be paid for taking place in the struggle ranks for an honourable and free life. But, as Garibe Gezer’s unbroken resistance against the fascist-sexist attacks revealed again, all of these attacks are in vain. We paid heavy prices and will bring the male-dominated fascism to account.
Militia actions carried out by Kurdish youths and the actions held by women from Turkey and Kurdistan following the martyrdom of Garibe Gezer revealed a positive tendency. Fascist dictator Erdogan, the palace, AKP-MHP, Ministries of Justice and Internal Affairs, managers and wardens in Kandıra Prison, who were involved in the massacre, anti-women, anti-people and anti-revolutionary institutions and persons will be targeted by all kinds of actions to be held within the scope of our rightful struggle.”
