Former HDP administrator remanded in custody in Batman

On November 27, Sedef Özdemir from the Free Women’s Movement (TJA), Batman city councillor Vahibe Çelik, Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Batman Provincial Organization administrator Sedat Yıldız, HDP’s former provincial administrator Mahir Bekleviş and HDP’s former central district administrators Sevcan Öz and Berivan Altun were detained in a police raid as part of an investigation launched by Batman Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office.

Those detained on charge of “being a member of a terrorist organization” were referred to a court yesterday evening after their statements had been taken at the Batman Police Department.

The court ruled to release 5 politicians on condition of judicial control and to send Bekleviş to prison.
