170 migrants stranded on Belarusian-Polish border apply to return to Iraq

Thousands of migrants piled up at the Poland-Belarus border are waiting to enter into European countries. In the meantime, the Iraqi central government has stepped into action for the return of the migrants.

Iraqi Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Ahmed al-Sahaf released a statement about the repatriation of the migrants to the country. Accordingly, 107 migrants have registered their names voluntarily so far to return to Iraq.

“Our diplomatic staff is now completing logistical coordination with the airport authorities in Minsk to operate the exceptional flight and return the stranded. Those who go to Belarus are under the threat of human trafficking,” he added.
