Düsseldorf action against Turkish use of chemical weapons enters 5th day
The tent action in front of the NRW (North Rhine-Westphalia) State Parliament in Düsseldorf to protest the chemical weapons attacks carried out by the Turkish state against guerrilla areas has entered its 5th day.
On Thursday, YJK-E NRW assemblies took over the action on its 4th day.
Kurdish women participating in the action wore white dresses and carried banners they had prepared to protest the chemical attacks.
YJK-E Spokesperson Ayten Kaplan said: “The massacre attacks launched against the Kurdish people continue to get wider. The Turkish state is aiming at a total annihilation attack. The isolation of Kurdish people’s leader Abdullah Öcalan is also been carried out in connection with these attacks. The European states and the German government continue to remain silent. European human rights organizations must act immediately to stop these chemical attacks. The German government should take the lead on this.”
Calling on all people against the war to show solidarity with the Kurdish people, Ayten Kaplan called on all Kurds and their friends to join the NRW Düsseldorf march to be held on Saturday, 13 October.”
Didar Cenan said on behalf of the Alevi institutions that “the Alevi people have been massacred by the Turkish state for years. These massacres are not just targeting people, but they are also targeting our villages that are being burned. Nature is being killed by burning forests. People are forcibly removed from their homes. The whole world is watching in silent.”
Serhad Med gave a concert at the action.
Throughout the day, representatives of various institutions made speeches and read statements condemning the chemical attacks.
The tent action will continue on the 5th day between 1 and 5 pm today in Königsalle-Bahnstrasse. Saturday the action will end at 2pm with a NRW-wide march at DGB Haus in Düsseldorf.
