KJK: The dignified and free Kurdish people will be victorious

The three victims of the Turkish drone attack have been laid to rest in Qamishlo today. The targeted attack on a car in a residential neighborhood killed 82-year-old Yusif Gulo and his grandsons Mazlum and Mihemed Gulo on Tuesday. There is anger and mourning in the northern Syrian city, and businesses remain closed today.

Meanwhile, the Communities of Women of Kurdistan (Komalên Jinên Kurdistan, KJK) has published a condolence statement calling for resistance.

The coordination of the KJK pointed out that the Gulo family has been known for many years for its attachment to the Kurdish liberation struggle, saying, “The fascist AKP/MHP government, in its state of acute distress, is trying to enforce its own preservation of power by brutally increasing the genocide against the Kurdish people. It makes its own existence dependent on the elimination of the Kurdish people and their liberation struggle. Because it does not achieve the desired result in the face of the organized strength of the Kurdish people and the resistance of the freedom guerrillas, which is unique for this age, it relies on completely asymmetric war technology and chemical weapons.”

The statement continued, “The drone attack on the Gulo family in Qamishlo also took place within this framework. The valuable patriot Apê Yusif and his grandsons Mazlum and Mihemed were targeted in the middle of the city in a moving car and fell as martyrs in this attack. The fascist regime of the Republic of Turkey has committed another war crime with this armed drone attack. With this cross-border airstrike, people from the civilian population in free Rojava have been deliberately and purposefully killed. This inhumane attack is a crime according to the laws of war and international law and has been carried out in the airspace controlled by the states supposedly acting as guarantor powers. This makes these states complicit with the Turkish murderous state.

It is no coincidence that this vile attack has hit the Gulo family and Apê Yusif in particular. Kurdish patriots who claim a free life and are determined in their resistance are deliberately attacked. Just as the Said Hesen family was targeted in Shengal, the Gulo family was targeted in Rojava.

The dignified resistance of the Kurdish people will not be put down by such cowardly methods employed by the fascist, inhuman and anti-Kurdish mentality. The Gulo family, with its patriotism and honorable attitude, is one of the families that play a leading role and are considered a role model among the people of Rojava. However, today, every family in Rojava is in the same position. All of them participate patriotically and with dignity in the resistance and have martyrs. They continue to pay a heavy price. In this sense, there is more than ever a guarantee that the dignified, resistant and patriotic Kurdish people who insist on a free life will win in Rojava. The enemies and their collaborators, who cannot bear the free will and existence of Rojava, will lose. The enemies of the Kurdish people have already lost through the concentrated reaction of the people of Rojava to this massacre.

We call on all our people to develop their patriotism and unity in Rojava and all other areas against attacks, thus increasing the struggle against the enemy. The dignified and free Kurdish people will be victorious.”
