YJA Star guerrillas: “The enemy has no strength to break our determination”

The resistance against the Turkish army in the southern Kurdish Medya Defense Areas has been going on for six months. At the forefront are the female guerrillas in YJA Star. Although the Turkish state uses very sophisticated technology and chemical weapons, the guerrillas put up constant resistance and keep going back to the offensive.

“The enemy mainly attacks women”

Roza Sila is one of the commanders of the guerrilla offensive Cenga Xabûr. She explains: “A movement for lasting victory has been formed. The guerrillas implement their promise of success through their actions. Every comrade goes against the enemy using the tactics and methods of the new era and fights with determination. We developed a new technique in our movements that responds to the demands of the new phase. The guerrillas move according to these demands and give the appropriate answers. At the forefront of this war are women. That is why the enemy attacks women more violently. We know the enemy is the weakest right now. We will take revenge for our people and our comrades.”

“You don’t have the strength to break our will”

YJA star guerrilla Lîlav Jînda speaks of the constant attacks and resistance of the guerrillas and says: “The whole world sees the determination and the courage of the guerrillas. The enemy is attacking and using chemical weapons in Avaşîn, Zap and Metîna, but we continue to resist. The enemy does not have the strength, determination and will of the guerrillas, because the guerrillas fight on the basis of the apoist philosophy. We will keep our promise to Rêber Apo [Abdullah Öcalan] and our people. The enemy will never break the will of the guerrillas; it will not achieve his goal.”

“With the spirit of Zendûra”

Zîlan Cûdî, who is fighting in the guerrilla offensive Cenga Xabûr, says that the guerrillas are fiercely resisting and taking action every day. The morale of the fighters is high.

She continues: “We will not let the enemy pass. We fight with the spirit of Zendûra. Under every tree, in every corner, there are guerrillas who are resisting. In these free mountains, victory will belong to the guerrillas.”
