Mannheim group takes over freedom vigil in Strasbourg

The freedom vigil in Strasbourg, France, which is carried out to demand the freedom of Öcalan and to lift the isolation on him in the Imralı Island Prison, marks its 489th week.

A new group from Mannheim, Germany, has taken over the vigil that the Kurdish people and their friends in Europe have been carrying out in groups every week.

The group includes Çîyager Pîrsus, Tuncer Mazi, Mustafa Yılmaz and Halil Yücel.

“Our leader is under absolute isolation, and we cannot receive news from him in prison. Our leader is our will,” Çîyager Pîrsus said in a speech on behalf of the group.

“European countries are complicit in the crimes committed against our people and leader. Our struggle will not end until our leader and our people are freed,” Pîrsus concluded.
