KCDK-E calls on everyone to participate in action in front of the OPCW building on Wednesday

The European Democratic Kurdish Society Congress (KCDK-E) said that the invading Turkish state, which does not comply with any international convention, committed war crimes and caused the death of dozens of guerrillas by using chemical weapons in the Medya Defense Areas, and put into effect the policy of evacuating villages using chemical gas. The KCDK-E is promoting a march to be held in The Hague on 3 November to demand the OPCW (Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons) to send an investigation to investigate the use of chemical weapons.

The KCDK-E said: “The Turkish state’s invasion attacks in Syria and Iraq continue. The Turkish army is currently occupying the territory of South Kurdistan with around ten thousand soldiers, 48 military headquarters, outposts and helipads, which does not comply with any international agreement.

The invasion and massacre attacks launched by the Turkish army in Southern Kurdistan on April 23 were inconclusive, yet they carried out war crimes by ignoring international conventions and law, repeatedly using chemical bombs in Metina, Avaşîn and Zap, resulting in the death of dozens of guerrillas.

The Turkish state did not continue this dirty war only against the guerrilla areas, but also bombed civilian areas with chemical gases and activated the policy of evacuating villages in South Kurdistan.”

The statement added: “These complaints have been brought to the agenda especially in the national parliaments in Europe, the Council of Europe and the European Parliament. The Kurdish people are organizing protest actions in Europe and Kurdistan.

The failure of the UN, EU, EC and OPCW to act despite all this information, documents and complaints means partnership with these crimes against humanity. It is the primary duty of the OPCW to examine complaints about the use of toxic gases and to take measures against it. The OPCW should immediately prevent the Turkish state from using chemical gas against the Kurds, and should not allow any more war crimes against humanity.”

The KCDK-E demanded “the OPCW to urgently send a delegation to carry out investigations in Zap, Metina and Avaşîn,” and announced that it will organise a demonstration in front of OPCW in The Hague, Netherlands on Wednesday, 3 November.
