Two peshmergas killed in ISIS attack in Kirkuk

In Iraq and Southern Kurdistan, a striking increase in attacks by the terrorist organization ISIS has been observed since the parliamentary elections. In recent days, there have been daily attacks on security forces and civilians. In an attack on October 26 on a village in the Iraqi province of Diyala, 13 people were killed and more than 30 injured.

On Saturday evening, two peshmergas were killed in an ISIS attack in the Pirde district near Kirkuk. According to the peshmerga ministry, the dead are Xalid Hemid Heyas and Ako Kerim Qadir. According to the report, the attack on the peshmerga position in the Zurgezraw area was carried out with heavy weapons.

In another attack in Abbasiye district between Kirkuk and Tikrit, three workers were killed and two others survived injured.

ISIS is also becoming more active in Syria. The U.S. blames this, among other things, on Turkey’s attacks, which it says are “undermining” the fight against ISIS.
