Young activists in Marseille tell NATO states to stop selling weapons to Turkey

Tevgera Ciwanên Şoreşger (TCŞ) members organized a march in the city of Marseille to demand freedom for Kurdish people’s leader Abdullah Öcalan and to protest the chemical weapons attacks carried out by the Turkish state against HPG guerrillas.

Gathering in the Belle de Mai square of Marseille on Wednesday evening, the young activists carried banners with pictures of the PKK and Abdullah Öcalan and a banner condemning the Turkish state’s use of chemical weapons against Kurds.

After the march, a statement was read out: “We young people believe that freedom for Öcalan will be achieved and we will always be on the streets demanding this. We ask NATO countries to stop arms sales to the Turkish state, which has committed war crimes using chemical weapons. We will support the guerrillas’ struggle.”

At the end of the action, all Kurdish youth and patriots were invited to the TCŞ Marseille Youth Congress to be held on 31 October.
