Nearly 100 Behdinan prisoners, including journalists, intellectuals, writers and teachers, who were arrested by the KDP, have been held in prison for more than a year without any justification.
The German Consulate in Hewlêr issued a statement on its Twitter account regarding the Behdinan prisoners case.
The statement said: “Together with the United Nations and the European Union, we are closely monitoring the Behdinan prisoners’ case. Concerns about the rule of law, particularly pre-trial detention, access to lawyers and denied family visits, remain.”
