Teachers protest in Iran and Eastern Kurdistan

At the beginning of the new school year, teachers in the cities of Eastern Kurdistan and Iran protested against low salaries and high school costs. Some activities demanded the release of imprisoned teachers. Further demands were “Education is a right of the children” and “No to political education!

Protests took place in Merîwan, Ilam, Sine, Tehran, Khorasan, Isfahan, Lorestan, Kohgiluyeh,Buyer Ahmed, Mazandaran, Yazd, Charmehal, Bextiyar, Kirmaşan and Saqiz, among other cities.
