KOMAW calls on the international community to take a stronger stance on Turkish attacks

The Martyr and Missing Families Association (Komeleya Malbatên Şehîd û Wendahiyan -KOMAW) condemned the attacks of the Turkish state against the people and Kurdistan defense forces in four parts of Kurdistan in a written statement.

In the statement, KOMAW said that the AKP-MHP government is seeking victory through the fascist attacks against the Kurdish people and takes advantage of the conflict environment in the region. The statement noted, however, that thanks to resistance of both the fighters of the Kurdistan Freedom Movement and the people of Kurdistan, the Turkish state could not achieve any result.

The statement said that the fascist government has accelerated its efforts to form an alliance with Turkey, Iraq, Iran and Syria in order to revive its colonial policies based on Turkish-Kurdish hostility, and added that the meeting of the Syrian intelligence chief and the head of MIT in Baghdad is a sign of this.

The statement also underlined that the Hewler and Baghdad administrations are now partners in their support of the Turkish state and reminded that the 7 guerrillas who fell as martyrs in Xelîfan were the direct result of the partnership with the Hewler administration.

The KOMAW statement continued: “We, as KOMAW, express our condolences to the families of our people who fell as martyrs in these attacks and to our people, and reiterate that we stand by them. At the same time, we would like to call on the international community to take a stronger stand against the barbarism of the Turkish Republic, and against the collaborators and partners of this fascist state.”
