YPS sets fire to tens of workplaces and vehicles in Istanbul

The Civil Defense Units (YPS) released a statement and announced that they had carried out multiple actions within the campaign “Dem Dema Azadiye ye” (Time for freedom) in Istanbul.

The statement said:

“Our units carried out a large-scale action against a toy factory in Fatih-Istanbul on June 28. Our action rendered tens of workplaces useless.

On July 29, a shop belonging to a member of the AKP in Istanbul Unkapanı Quarter was burned by our forces. Also, the police guard box in Yedi Emin Car Park was burned and destroyed entirely.

On July 30, our units set fire to three luxury vehicles in the Piyale Paşa neighbourhood of Istanbul. The vehicles were entirely destroyed.

A buffet belonging to Istanbul Fatih Municipality was burnt to ashes on August 15.

In Güngören, İkitelli and Küçükçekmece districts of Istanbul, our forces set fire to three buses of IETT (Istanbul Electric Tram and Tunnel Enterprises).

The statement also included the following:

“Thanks to Kurdish people’s freedom march which has been led by the Leader Öcalan and extended by the Kurdistan Liberation Movement, we will accelerate the collapse of the barbarian AKP-MHP fascism, going into action everywhere based on our people’s determined stance and self-defence reflex, saying ‘we will resist and fight for our honour and freedom’.”
