KCDK postpones 29th International Kurdish Festival in the Netherlands to 24-25 September

The 29th International Kurdish Culture Festival in the Netherlands had to be postponed by one week to comply with coronavirus restrictions in the Netherlands. The Kurdish European Association KCDK-E said: “We had planned the festival on 17 and 18 September. Everything was ready, from posters to advertisements, from artists to guests who had already been invited. There was to be a reception on Friday evening and all economic and bureaucratic issues had already been clarified.”

However, said the KCDK-E “due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Dutch authorities had urged us to postpone the annual major event. It would have been possible to have only a limited number of participants until 20 September, after which there will be no more restrictions. Therefore, the festival must inevitably be postponed.”

The association decided to postpone the event and called on the Kurdish population in Europe as well as all friends and internationalists to participate in the festival under the motto “Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan, status for Kurdistan”.
