45 villages in Zirgan without electricity due to Turkish attacks

The invading Turkish state and its mercenaries have been carrying out intense invasion attacks on Zirgan for nearly two months. The invaders target the service institutions in the region and cut off the basic needs of the people such as electricity and water. Due to the bombardment of power lines in Zirgan, power has been cut off in 45 villages of the district for months.

Til Temir Electricity Center co-chair Fehed Simêla told ANHA that the electricity in the district has been cut since the Turkish state attacks began, on 29 July. Stating that the technical teams tried to repair the lines but the mercenaries did not allow this, Simêla said: “There is a distance of 400 meters between the fault line and the place under the control of the mercenaries. Due to the attacks of the mercenaries, our teams cannot reach the location of the damage.”

Simêla continued: “We have identified the damages that occurred in the villages of Xirbet Şeir, Til Werd and Şêx Eli during the attacks carried out by the Turkish state. Russia needs to be an intermediary to allow us repair these damages.”

Underlining that power cuts also mean water cuts, Simêla said: “We are working hard to solve the problems. We are trying to reach the place where the damages are to fix them as quickly as possible.”
